The roughly two-and-a-half-year journey broke the spaceplane’s previous record of 780 days and now means it’s flown over 1.3 billion miles and 3,774 days in space. The Boeing-made spaceplane landed at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 5:22 am ET, November 12, 2022. This was its sixth mission since the X-37B’s first launch in 2010. All of them launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida. The spaceplane is a partnership between the US Department of the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office and the US Space Force....

According to analysis by cybersecurity researchers at Digital Shadows, the most commonly discussed vulnerability among cyber criminals on underground forums over the last three months is CVE-2017-11882 – a security flaw in Microsoft Office first disclosed in 2017. When exploited successfully, this vulnerability allows cyber criminals to execute remote code on a vulnerable Windows system, providing a way for attackers to drop malware secretly onto the machine. Malware delivered in attacks exploiting CVE-2017-11882 includes Formbook, which secretly provides attackers with remote access capabilities, keystroke logging, and the ability to take screenshots, putting victims at risk of stolen usernames and passwords....

Cybersecurity researchers at Palo Alto Networks set up a honeypot comprised of 320 nodes around the world, made up of multiple misconfigured instances of common cloud services, including remote desktop protocol (RDP), secure shell protocol (SSH), server message block (SMB) and Postgres databases. The honeypot also included accounts configured to have default or weak passwords – exactly the sort of things that cyber criminals are looking for when trying to breach networks....

According to an alert by the United States Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Agency (CISA), attackers could exploit the vulnerabilities in Google Chrome for Windows, Mac and Linux “to take control of an affected system”. On Wednesday at the Kaspersky Security Analyst Summit (SAS), researchers said that a new campaign revealed similarities between DarkHalo’s Sunshuttle, as well as “target overlaps” with Kazuar. The SolarWinds incident took place in 2020. FireEye and Microsoft revealed the breach, in which SolarWinds’s Orion network management software was compromised to impact as many as 18,000 customers in a software update-based supply-chain attack. While many thousands of clients may have received a malicious update, the threat actors appeared to cherry-pick the targets worthy of further compromise – including Microsoft, FireEye, and government agencies....

Deliveries will be conducted in Motional’s IONIQ 5 vehicles, which are capable of operating autonomously. Participating restaurants bring packaged orders to the curb and place them inside a locking compartment. Once the car arrives at its destination the customer is notified and retrieves the order from the car. Uber Eats and Motional have been working on the various customer touchpoints for months with an eye toward a seamless rollout. “At Uber, we’re always looking for ways to use new technology to help consumers go anywhere and get anything,” said Noah Zych, Global GM for Uber’s Autonomous Mobility and Delivery business....

The company’s third quarter highlighted strong growth across its mobility, delivery and freight businesses. However, Uber reported a third quarter net loss of $2.4 billion due to write-downs from equity investments. Uber wrote down a $3.2 billion unrealized loss in Didi and revalued Zomato, Aurora and Joby stakes. Uber’s revenue for the third quarter was $4.8 billion, up 72% from a year ago, and ahead of the $4.42 billion Wall Street estimate....

Dubbed TA2541 and detailed by cybersecurity researchers at Proofpoint, the persistent cyber-criminal operation has been active since 2017 and has compromised hundreds of organisations across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. In its environment, social, and governance strategy update, the bank also noted it required 19,000 customers to change the language they used in transaction descriptions before their payments could be accepted and processed. The bank added it issued more than 800 warning letters and account suspensions and reported more than 70 customers to authorities for abusive payments.
